Identify the Neosta software package included with your supply bundle or purchased separately.
Observe the bright yellow packaging labeled “Important.”
Do not discard the packaging, as it contains the physical software dongle.
Understand that the dongle is required to operate the software.
Acknowledge that if the dongle is lost or thrown away, printing will not be possible.
Understand that replacement of a lost dongle is the user’s responsibility.
Locate the serial number printed on the physical dongle.

If the USB drive is missing or incomplete, check the email received from the dealer where the printer was purchased.

2. Assembly

Tools and Supplies Required

What you need

Hammer
Protective gloves
Scissors
Power drill or screwdriver

Uncrating the Printer

Locate the metal prongs around the outer edge of the crate’s top lid.
Use a hammer to lift each prong upward until it is facing straight up.
Repeat this process for all prongs around the top lid.
Carefully pry off and remove the top lid.
Wear protective gloves and avoid sharp metal edges.
Locate the metal prongs along the sides of the crate.
Lift all side prongs upward until straight.
Remove all four side panels.
Locate the three metal crossbars inside the crate.
Remove the four screws from each crossbar and remove all three crossbars.
Use scissors to remove shrink wrap.
Remove all included parts and lay them out.
Use on-screen images and part numbers to verify all parts are present.
Remove remaining wrapping from the printer and all parts.
Locate the media sensor and cut the zip tie to free the cables.
Disconnect the connector so the media sensor is fully free.
Open the black box and remove the bag of bolts for assembly.

Assembling the Printer Stand

Locate the left and right stand parts labeled L and R.
Start with the left side.
Rotate the leveling pads counterclockwise to lower them.
Loosen the two Allen bolts on both sides of the foot.
Match the left leg to the left foot and slide the leg into the foot.
Secure the leg using two new bolts on each side.
Lightly tighten the two bottom bolts, leaving room for adjustment.
Repeat the same process for the right side.
Fully tighten all bolts once both sides are assembled.
Install the L bracket on the matching side using four bolts.
Lay the assembly on its side and install the two bottom bolts.
Repeat to complete both left and right assemblies.
Stand both assemblies upright with letters facing forward.
Install the lower crossbar using four bolts per side.
Install two additional interior bolts on each side of the crossbar.
Lock the casters.
Install the small bracket on the right side of the crossbar using two bolts.
Adjust leveling pads as needed and lock casters again.
Install the mid-height crossbar using four bolts per side.
Install two additional interior bolts per side and fully tighten.
Attach the two takeup assembly arms to the back of the stand.
Install takeup reel bracket parts in the correct orientation using two bolts each.
Install covers over the bottom holes.

Assembling the Takeup Reels

Assemble the front takeup reel using two poles and two motorized pieces.
Loosen the four bracket bolts.
Insert the pole through the brackets, pushing the back side through first.
Install the motorized piece labeled Right first.
Install the opposite side next.
Adjust pole position and tighten all four bolts.
Rotate the stand so the back faces you.
Assemble the bottom takeup reel without motors.
Insert poles, install right side first, then left, and tighten bolts.
Assemble the takeup reel on the takeup arms.
Install the motorized Right side first, then the Left side.
Tighten all bolts securely.

Installing Waste Tank and Media Sensors

Press and hold the white button on the waste tank upside down.
Confirm the red light blinks to verify the full sensor works.
Install the waste tank holder by inserting prongs and sliding down to lock.
Place the waste tube into the holder.
Rotate media sensor ring locks counterclockwise.
Move sensors fully forward and lock them clockwise.
Install the sensor bracket with sensors facing the back of the printer.
Secure the bracket using two screws.

Mounting the Printer onto the Stand

Rotate the stand so the front faces you.
Lock all casters.
Align the large metal prongs with the holes under the printer.
Use a minimum of four people to lift the printer.
Guide alignment from underneath during lifting.
Remove shipping brackets on each side.
Secure the printer to the stand using bolts at each leg.

Installing the Ink Bay

Remove the rear panel by removing the top three screws and loosening the bottom three.
Loosen two screws on each side where the ink bay mounts.
Place the ink bay on top without securing it.
Route the ink bay cable through the printer hole.
Connect the cable inside the side panel.
Slide the ink bay slots onto the loosened screws and tighten.
Connect ink bay connectors white-to-white and black-to-black.
Remove plastic wrap from the tube and connect it fully.
Connect labeled ink tubes to matching ink container caps.
Reinstall the rear panel ensuring tubes are not pinched.
Secure the panel with six screws.
Visually confirm installation matches reference images.

Assembling Cabinets and Optional Stands

Assemble the left cabinet using on-screen orientation guides.
Attach the door using four screws.
Install back, right, top, and bottom panels in order.
Confirm door swings outward to the left.
Assemble the right cabinet following the same orientation rules.
Install optional computer stand if applicable.
Secure cabinets to the printer stand using specified bolts.
Install optional monitor arm if applicable.

Installing the Water Chiller and Air Purifier

Route chiller tubes and cables through the cabinet.

Fill the water chiller with 800 ml of distilled water only.
Power on the chiller and verify water flow.
Turn on the air purifier and set to 45–47.
Power on the air compressor and verify pressure.
Confirm printer pressure gauge increases.
Test media loading.

PC computer only (not compatible with Mac or tablet PCs)
Microsoft Surface Pro is considered a tablet PC and may not work
Windows 11 or later recommended
CPU: Intel i5 or i7, 2.6 GHz or higher
Storage: Over 500 GB free space
SSD recommended over HDD
RAM: Minimum 8 GB (higher recommended)
Ethernet cable
Ethernet adapter (required for laptops without Ethernet ports)

Step One: Downloading Pilot Software

Locate the Quick Start Guide PDF from the USB thumb drive or dealer email.
Doubleclick the Quick Start Guide PDF file.
Click on Important Resources.
Download the DTF Station Pilot software for your printer model.
Locate the serial number sticker on your printer.
If the printer was manufactured before December 2024, contact DTF Station technicians to confirm compatibility.
If instructed, download the motherboard upgrade package and firmware configuration files.
Disable antivirus or add the program as an authorized file to prevent installation issues.
Confirm the installation file is fully downloaded in the Downloads folder.
Verify the Ethernet cable connection between the computer and printer.
If using a laptop without an Ethernet port, connect an Ethernet adapter.

Step Two: Installing Pilot Software

Doubleclick the downloaded.exe installation file.
Follow the on-screen installation prompts.
Accept the license terms.
Allow Microsoft Visual C++ and required packages to install.
Monitor the taskbar for pop-up windows if installation pauses.
After installation, rename the DTF Station Pilot icon to R1.
Doubleclick the icon to launch Pilot.
Observe the left connection symbol blinking red, indicating no communication.
Observe the light bulb symbol showing red or yellow if errors exist.
Click the light bulb icon to open the log tab.

Establishing Ethernet Connection

Connect the Ethernet cable between the computer and printer.
Power on the printer.
Click the Windows Start menu and search for Ethernet.
Open Ethernet settings.
Click Change Adapter Options.
Unplug the Ethernet cable and observe which adapter disconnects.
Identify the correct Ethernet connection linked to the printer.
Reconnect the Ethernet cable.

Network Configuration in Pilot

What you need

If “Failed to load parameters” appears, update motherboard and firmware
If connection remains red, try:
A different Ethernet cable
A different Ethernet adapter
A different IP address (except ending in 10)
Contact DTF Station support if issues persist

Return to the DTF Station Pilot program.
Click the Advanced tab.
Click Admin Menu.
Select Network.
Choose the correct Ethernet connection from the dropdown menu.
Enter a local IP address matching the server IP except the last two digits.
Use 192.168.127.XX where XX is any number except 10.
Click Set, then click OK.
Wait 5 to 10 seconds for parameters to load.
Confirm both the connection symbol and light bulb turn green.

Step Three: Changing Language and Setting Port

Navigate to the last main tab on the right side.
Click the last subtab within that section.
Select the first available icon to connect the printer.
Choose the correct Ethernet port from the dropdown menu.
Enter the IP address using the same format as before.
Click the save button on the left.
Click OK and close the pop-up window.
Wait for the solid green connection light.
Click the second button from the top.
Select English from the dropdown menu.
Press the button on the right.
Click OK.
Close Pilot and reopen it to apply language changes.

Step Four: Setting Parameters

Open the DTF Station Pilot program.
Match all settings exactly as shown in the video.
Ensure the Spot Color option is unchecked.
Set the Print Start Position based on film loading.
If film is centered, use a value between 50 and 70.
Click Save.
Press the Home button to confirm carriage movement.
Rightclick the Pilot icon in the taskbar and select Pin to Taskbar.
Close and reopen Pilot to confirm the connection remains active.

4. Loading & Charging Ink, Head Cleaning

Ink Preparation and Filling Ink Bottles

Gather all ink bottles.
Shake each ink bottle for at least 20 seconds.
Shake white ink for 1 full minute.
After shaking, let ink sit for at least 3 minutes before pouring, especially white ink.
Create two holes in the ink bottle foil seal:
Make one larger hole for ink to pour out.
Make one smaller hole above it to allow air to flow in for a smoother pour.
Repeat the two-hole process for all bottles.
Turn the printer on.
Confirm the control panel is on the home screen and ink levels are visible.

Filling the Rear Ink Bay

Go to the rear ink bay.
Confirm all ink valves are closed (valve handles facing to the side).
Verify each ink container cap is labeled with its corresponding color.
Open one ink container cap.
Pour the correct ink into the matching container.
Close the cap but do not tighten fully.
Leave the cap slightly loose to allow air into the container as needed.
Repeat for all ink colors.

Loading Media

Go to the front of the printer.
Locate the metal media core on the feed reel.
Rotate the locking knobs toward you to unlock the core.
Pull the metal media core out.
Load the B film onto the media core so the film unravels over the top.
Reinstall the media core into the printer.
On the left side, align the metal notch with the slot in the printer.
Seat the right side (no notch).
Rotate the locking knobs away from you to lock the B film in place.
Go to the back of the printer.
On the bottom takeup reel, load the A film so it unravels over the top.
Center the film to the printer bed as evenly as possible.
Rotate the locking knobs to secure the media core.
Unravel the A film and route it behind the upper takeup reel.
Loop the film over the thin middle rod.
Route the film under the thicker metal rod as shown.
Pull the film forward and feed it through the rear opening toward the front of the printer.
Lock the feed reel by pressing the locking mechanism in.
From the front, gently pull the film upward to confirm it feeds straight and aligns with the B film across the full width.
On the control panel, press Load/Unload Media to raise the pressure roller.
Feed the A film underneath the pressure roller.
Pull the film taut to keep it straight.
Press Load/Unload Media again to lower the roller and lock the film.
Using a sharp snap blade with light pressure, cut a horizontal line across the A film.
Only cut the top layer of the film and do not cut through both layers.
Peel the top layer away and feed it toward the back of the printer.
Unravel the B film and lay it over the exposed adhesive section of the A film.
Ensure both films are straight and bonded across the full width.
On the control panel, press and hold the Down arrow to advance the media.
Go to the back of the printer.
Unlock the A film feed reel.
Pull the peeled top layer of the A film from the rear.
Align it to the rear takeup reel.
Turn the knobs clockwise to lock its position.
Tape the film to the media core.
Set the rear takeup motor switch to position 1.
Return to the front of the printer.
Press and hold the Down arrow to continue feeding the combined film.
Continue until there is enough media to reach the front bottom takeup reel.
Loosen the locking knobs and center the media core to the film.
Tighten the knobs and tape the film to the front takeup core.
Set the front takeup motor switch to position 2.

Heater Settings

On the control panel, press Settings.
Go to Heat Settings.
Set the front heater to 45°.
Set the rear heater to 45°.
Return to the main menu.
Wait until the displayed heater temperatures reach the set values before printing.

Ink Charge and Head Cleaning

Open the printer cover.
Press and hold the Left arrow key to move the carriage to the left.
Inspect the caps and confirm there is a layer of clear liquid on top of each cap.
Press Carriage Reset to return the carriage home.
Go to the rear ink bay and open all ink valves.
On the computer, open DTF Station Pilot.
Go to Settings.
Set Head Select to Forehead All.
Select Ink Charge.
Run Ink Charge for 30 seconds.
When the timer completes, press Stop.
Repeat the Ink Charge process 2 to 3 times.
Go to Head Clean.
Select Forehead All.
Choose Normal Cleaning.
Perform 2 normal cleanings.

Print Start Position and Nozzle Check

Use the ruler on the printer bed to select the print start position relative to the right edge of the film.
Use 75 mm as the print start position for spacing from the edge.
In DTF Station Pilot, go to Settings.
Go to Media Settings.
Set Print Start Position to 75 mm.
Click Save.
Close all covers.
Select Nozzle Check and print the test pattern.
Inspect the nozzle check and confirm complete ink output across all four heads.
If nozzles are missing, perform 2 light head cleanings on the affected head or all heads.
If the issue persists, contact a DTF Station technician.
