Overview of the View Raw Data Feature

- Use the View Raw Data feature to preview a print job as separated color layers.
- Verify which color information is being sent to the printer.
- Use this tool for proofing and troubleshooting print output.
Preparing the Job for Raw Data Preview

- Import the graphic into the desired queue.
- Select the job in the queue.
- Right-click the job.
- Select Rip Only.
- Allow the job to spool without sending it to the printer.
Opening View Raw Data

- Right-click the ripped job.
- Select View Raw Data.
- Review the warning message stating colors may not accurately reflect printed output.
- Optionally select Remember this selection next time.
- Click OK.
Navigating the Raw Data Window

- Use the zoom drop-down list to zoom in or out.
- Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out tools as needed.
- Click and drag with the zoom tool to enlarge a specific area.
- If the Select Films to View window is not visible, click the Toggle Color Planes and Layers button.
Viewing the White Layer

- In the Select Films to View window, review the available layers.
- Click Deselect All.
- Check the box next to the White layer.
- Confirm that only the white layer is visible in the Raw Data window.
Adjusting Background and White Ink Visibility

- Click the Substrate Color selection at the bottom of the window.
- Set the background color to white.
- Note that the white channel becomes invisible against a white background.
- Select View All Colors as Black at the top of the Raw Data window.
- Confirm that white ink locations are displayed in black.
Viewing the Color Layer

- Check the box next to Layer 2.
- Confirm that the color channels are visible.
- Remember that displayed colors may not exactly match printed output.
Comparing Output Between Different Queues

- Load the same graphic into the white shirts queue.
- Observe that a black box appears around the image.
- Note that this occurs because the white shirts queue does not remove black automatically.
Viewing Raw Data for a White Shirt Queue

- Right-click the job.
- Select Rip Only.
- After ripping completes, right-click the job again.
- Select View Raw Data.
- Review the Select Films to View window.
- Confirm that only one layer is present and no white layer exists.
Troubleshooting Ink Output

- Deselect the color channels.
- Select View All Colors as Black.
- Confirm that no ink is shown when CMYK channels are not selected.
- Use this method to verify which layers and channels will be printed.
