Using Different Method To Make Copies In Digital Factory

• Copy Groups
• Duplicates
• Template Copies (same slot numbers)

1. Load the job into the queue.
2. Select the job.
3. In the lower-right **Status Menu**, open the **Job** tab.
4. Set **Item Width** to **11.8 inches**.
5. Click the **Page** tab.
6. Enter **10** in **Total Page Outputs**.
7. Re-select the job.
8. Click the **Print** icon.
9. Result: The same job prints on **10 separate pages**. COPY GROUPS

• Leave the lock icon enabled so height scales proportionally.

1. Select the job.
2. In the **Job** tab: Set **Item Width** to **3.5 inches**.
3. Click **Copies**.
4. A copy group is created.
5. Adjust: **Columns**
6. Set **Horizontal** and **Vertical Spacing** between items.

• **Rows**
• **Total Copies**

1. Click **Copy by Area**.
2. Instead of rows and columns, set: **Total Width**
3. Digital Factory fills the area automatically using the defined item size.

• **Total Length**

1. Drag the handles on the right and bottom of the copy group.
2. Digital Factory automatically calculates the total number of copies.
3. Example result: 15 decals created from one job.

DUPLICATES

• Only the **first row** is ripped.
• That ripped row is reused for the remaining rows.
• This significantly reduces RIP time compared to ripping every copy individually.

1. Select the job in the queue.
2. In the **Job** tab, click **Duplicate**.
3. Enter the number of duplicates (example: **6**).
4. Choose **Clone of Current Object**.
5. Six additional jobs appear in the queue.

1. Because **AutoPage** is enabled, each job is on its own page.
2. Select jobs and adjust **Item Scale Factor**: First two jobs: **75%**

• Next two jobs: **50%**
• Last two jobs: **33%**

1. Click an empty area in the queue to deselect all jobs.
2. Go to the **Page** tab.
3. Click **Nest All**.
4. Confirm the warning dialog.
5. Result: All duplicate jobs are nested onto a single page.

• Each job remains independent.

TEMPLATES

• Each duplicate can have:
• Different color adjustments
• Different sizes
• Rotation, mirroring, or tiling
• All remain editable independently.

1. Go to **Q Menu**.
2. Select **Properties**.
3. Open **Media Setup**.
4. In the **Type** drop-down: Select **Template Media**.
5. Choose an existing template.
6. All slots use the same slot number and accept the same graphic.

• Example shown: 25 identical slots sized **2 × 3 inches**.

1. Import your job.
2. The **Import Template Job** dialog appears.
3. Choose one: **Express**: Uses the currently selected template
4. To fill all slots on one page: Set **Copies** to **1**

• **Select**: Allows choosing a different template and slot number
• Click **Express**

• Digital Factory rips the job **once**.
• The ripped file is placed into every slot.
• Page Copies can still be used to print multiple template pages.

CLONE VS INDEPENDENT DUPLICATES

• Template slots do not need to be the same size.
• If slot sizes differ:
• Digital Factory creates **duplicates**, not copies.
• Example:
• Two small slots
• Two large slots
• Separate duplicate jobs are created automatically.

When using **Duplicate**, you have two choices:

1. **Clone of Current Object**
2. **Independent Copy** END OF GUIDE

• Any adjustment applied affects:
• Original job
• All duplicates
• Adjustments apply only to the selected duplicate
• Each duplicate can have unique effects or settings
