Front Heating Plate Positioning

  1. Raise the front heating plate.
  2. Secure the heating plate by placing the support arm into one of the notches.
  3. Set the plate height so the printed film feeds downward smoothly from the printer onto the plate.

Shaker Positioning and Printer Preparation

  1. Center the shaker using the front heating plate as the reference, not the printer.
  2. Perform a head cleaning on the printer.
  3. Print a nozzle check and verify at least 90% of nozzles are firing.

Feeding Initial Film

  1. Use the down arrow key to feed approximately one foot of film onto the front heating plate.
  2. Use the extra film to verify the film is centered on the plate.
  3. Adjust alignment as needed.

Powering On and Temperature Setup

  1. Turn on the shaker.
  2. Turn on the front heating plate.
  3. Set the front plate temperature.
  4. Use 80°C as a reference in high humidity environments.
  5. Adjust temperature as needed within the recommended range of 50°C to 90°C.

Starting the Print Job and Powder Loading

  1. Start printing a job on the printer.
  2. Pause the printer once the printed film fully covers the front heating plate.
  3. Always pause the printer before moving or adjusting media to prevent head strikes.
  4. Add hot melt powder to the powder station.
  5. Do not exceed the maximum load of 1 kg or one bag of powder.
  6. Resume the printer.

Feeding Film to Conveyor and Vacuum Setup

  1. Remove the lid once film begins bunching at the bottom.
  2. Pause the printer.
  3. Bring the film up to the conveyor.
  4. Pull the film slightly taut to determine straight alignment.
  5. Turn on the vacuum function to hold the film against the conveyor.
  6. Resume the printer.

Shaker Production Settings

  1. Set the shaker mode to Auto.
  2. Set the conveyor to 4 (Forward).
  3. Turn on the following functions: Shaking
  • Cooling
  • Recirculating
  • Main dryer

Shaker Sensor Operation

  1. Allow the shaker sensor behind the film to detect media.
  2. Verify that powder recirculation, shaking, heat, and conveyor activate automatically when film is detected.

Sub Dryer Setup at Start of Production

  1. Unlock the latches.
  2. Open the sub dryer at the beginning of production.
  3. Ensure the film does not get caught in this area.
  4. If film catches, adjust panel height using the four screws.
  5. Close the top lid.

Take-Up Reel Setup

  1. Route the film under the tension bar.
  2. Wrap the film around the take-up reel.
  3. Secure the film using tape.
  4. Turn on the take-up reel by switching it to the 1 position.
  5. Close the sub dryer.
  6. Lock the latches.

Vacuum Adjustment After Take-Up Setup

  1. Turn off the vacuum function after the film is secured.
  2. Confirm vacuum is off to prevent film creasing or head strikes.
  3. Note that increased film speed into the chamber is normal.
  4. Lower the sub dryer to improve curing speed.

Ongoing Production Checks

  • Check for banding on prints
  • Pause printer and clean heads if banding appears
  • Check for excess powder sticking to film
  • Increase front plate temperature or shaker intensity if excess powder remains
  • Verify sufficient hot melt powder supply
  • Inspect cured prints on take-up reel

Cure Quality Verification

  1. Inspect finished prints for an orange peel texture.
  2. If texture is grainy, increase main dryer temperature in 5°C increments.
  3. Ensure powder reaches at least 120°C for 45 seconds to 1 minute.

Production Monitoring Frequency

End-of-Day Film Feed Procedure

  1. Turn on the vacuum.
  2. Feed out one additional foot of film.
  3. Press the down arrow key for 2 seconds.
  4. Wait 5 seconds.
  5. Repeat until sufficient film is fed out to cure final prints.

End-of-Day Shutdown Preparation

  1. Turn off the front heating plate.
  2. Turn off powder recirculation.
  3. Cut the media while pulling slightly to prevent crinkling.
  4. Manually feed remaining film into the shaker.
  5. Slowly open the center lid.
  6. Hold the film from the center opening.
  7. Wait until the last print is fully powdered before releasing.

Final Curing and Take-Up Control

  1. Set the shaker to Manual mode.
  2. Monitor curing as the last print passes the shaking zone.
  3. Turn off shaking after the last print exits the conveyor.
  4. Control film tension to slow the take-up reel.
  5. Prevent the film from rolling up too quickly.

Full System Shutdown

  1. Turn off the take-up reel.
  2. Turn off main heat.
  3. Turn off sub heat.
  4. Turn off vacuum.
  5. Turn off conveyor.

Powder Cleanup Procedure

  1. Turn on the vacuum function to pull powder upward.
  2. Brush excess powder from surfaces.
  3. Install the end-of-day tray.
  4. Press and hold the cleaning button for more than 5 seconds.
  5. Tap inside the powder station using the spatula.
  6. Brush powder into the tray.
  7. Pour powder into a sealed container with desiccant.

Post-Cleanup Vacuum and Vent Maintenance

  1. Vacuum remaining powder around the machine.
  2. Leave the air purifier running for at least 5 minutes before disconnecting.
  3. Clean the oven vent with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

Cooling and Internal Cleaning

  2. Open all lids fully.
  3. Allow the machine to cool for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Remove excess powder or glycerin buildup.
  5. Clean all residue using isopropyl alcohol.
  6. Close and latch the oven area.

Weekly or As-Needed Maintenance

  1. Clean the sensor using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Keep all covers closed to prevent dust contamination.
  3. Remove the screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
  4. Inspect glycerin buildup inside the container.
  5. Clean the container with isopropyl alcohol.
  6. Reinstall and secure the screw.
