Open DTF Station Pilot. Click Advance. Go to Advance Menu. Enter the password and click Confirm. In the new window, go to the Ink Stack tab. Set Wetting the ink stack height to 10000. Set Pump the ink stack height to 10000. Set Flash the ink stack height to 8000. Set Scarp the ink stack height to 6000. Go to File and click Save. Click OK. Go to Operation and click Initialize. Power Off and Undock the Carriage Turn the printer off. Open the front lid. Rotate the knob counterclockwise until the capping station is completely detached from the carriage. Move the carriage manually to the left. If ink is flooded on the caps, clean it with paper towels to avoid spillage. Remove three screws from the top of the metal panel. Remove two screws from the bottom of the metal panel. Carefully remove the metal panel.
Remove the Caps From the Capping Station Remove eight screws to release the caps from the capping station. Note cap orientation: Oval shapes stay on the left side. Remove each cap carefully. For each cap, unplug the two tubes attached underneath. The circle indicates the right side. Remove the four bolts holding the top plate. Do not touch the raised/elevated bolts to avoid affecting top plate alignment. Lift and remove the top plate. Note which ink lines are for the color head and which are for the white head for later reconnection. Disconnect the tube underneath the plate by pushing in the blue ring while pulling the tube outward. Remove the four bolts at the base of the capping station. Mark the edge position of the current capping station using a marker or tape. If using tape, clean away ink or moisture first so the tape adheres properly. Unplug the cable from the capping station. On the right side of the printer, remove the two screws shown. Open the back door. Unplug the ethernet cable and route it out through the hole. Remove the long plastic cover by unclipping it along the long edge, working down slowly. Locate the cable on the motherboard and unplug it. Open the side of the printer and cut the zip tie. Route the cable removed from the motherboard from the back through the side to the front. Remove the capping station from the printer. Clean excess ink buildup in the capping station area using paper towels. If ink does not come off easily, use isopropyl alcohol. Position the new capping station into place. Route the cable through the side, then through the back. Plug the cable back into the motherboard. Reattach the plastic cover and ensure it is clipped securely from top to bottom. Route the ethernet cable back through the hole and plug it in. Close the back door. Secure the right-side piece with screws. Locate the L-bracket on the right side of the capping station. Lightly loosen the two screws on the L-bracket. Match the location/height of the L-bracket to the old capping station. Use the gap in the sensor as a reference to match the bracket height. Ensure the bracket is level and not slanted. Plug the capping station cable into the side as shown. Route the cap tubes through the back of the capping station. Install the four base bolts to hold the capping station in place. Do not fully tighten the base bolts yet. Align the capping station to the taped/marked line made earlier. Verify the capping station is straight by aligning its sides with the printer side walls/brackets. Reuse the old capping station top plate. Do not install the new top plate, since the old top plate already has the wiper blade set to the correct height. Connect the tube to the adapter and push it fully in. Verify the tube is secure by pulling lightly and confirming it does not come out. Route color tubes through the specified hole and white tubes through the specified hole. Install the four bolts to secure the top plate. Do not touch the elevated bolts. Install the color cap with the oval on the left and the circle on the right. Insert the tube into the bottom of the cap and push it fully in. Install the white cap using the same method. Secure both caps using four screws each. Rotate the knob counterclockwise to lower the capping station to its lowest position. Slide the carriage over as a secondary check. Rotate the knob clockwise to raise the capping station. Look from underneath to confirm the caps cover the printheads completely. If needed, make minor adjustments. Lower the capping station again. Move the carriage over. Tighten the four capping station base bolts fully. At the back of the printer, route the cable through available slots. Snap on the vertical cover to hide wires. Reinstall the rear cover and secure it with two screws. Turn the printer on. Confirm the printer is plugged into the computer. Open DTF Station Pilot. Wait until printer status shows Idle. Click Advance. Go to Advance Menu. Enter the password and click Confirm. Go to the Ink Stack tab. Note: Higher value raises the unit; lower value lowers the unit.
Adjust Wetting the Ink Stack Height Click Confirm for Wetting the ink stack height and observe movement. Adjust the value in increments of 500 or 1000 as needed. As you get close, adjust in smaller increments in the 400 range. Increase by 1000 and click Confirm. Confirm the capping station makes contact and presses in slightly without shifting the carriage. Copy the final Wetting the ink stack height value. Paste the same value into Pump the ink stack height.
Adjust Flash the Ink Stack Height Click Confirm for Flash the ink stack height and observe the gap. Increase the value by 1000 and click Confirm. If it appears to touch, decrease by 100 and click Confirm. Confirm the final position is very close to the printhead with a visible gap. Press the left arrow key once to undock the carriage from the capping station. Press the left arrow key again to move the carriage slightly left, using the shown reference position.
Adjust Scarp the Ink Stack Height for Squeegee Bend Click Confirm for Scarp the ink stack height and observe the squeegee. If the squeegee does not touch the top panel, increase the value by 1000 and click Confirm. Increase by another 1000 and click Confirm if needed. Confirm the squeegee contacts the side panel and bends slightly. Go to File and click Save. Click OK. Go to Firmware and click Export Firmware Configuration. Select a save location, name the file, and click Save. Click OK. Go to Firmware and click Export Firmware Configuration Parameter. Select a save location, name the file, and click Save. Click OK. Go to Operation and click Initialize. Close the window. Click the green light bulb to open the printer log. Confirm there are no red lines indicating error codes. On the control panel, press Cleaning to perform a head cleaning. While cleaning runs, observe the wiper to confirm it cleans the printhead properly. Using a syringe, go to the right side panel. Identify H2 as white ink and H1 as color ink. For the white channel (H2), disconnect the tube by twisting the adapter counterclockwise. Connect the syringe to the tube. Pull the syringe twice. Confirm a proper seal: You feel resistance when pulling. If no resistance is felt or bubbles appear, the seal is faulty. Solid ink flows into the syringe by the second pull. Inspect the capping station alignment relative to the printhead. If the capping station is positioned too far left: Use the left arrow key to shift the carriage. Press Enter to redock the carriage. Repeat the syringe pull test until resistance and solid ink flow are achieved. Reconnect the adapter by twisting clockwise. To avoid pinching tubes when tightening: Twist one side counterclockwise first. Loosen the cap screws to access cap adjustment. Shift the caps slightly to the right using the available wiggle room. Retighten the screws. Push the adapter on. Twist clockwise to tighten so the tube stays straight and relaxed. Repeat the same syringe test process for the color channel (H1). Pull twice. Confirm solid ink flow by the second pull. Reattach the ink tube. Perform a nozzle check. If the nozzle check pattern is good, the capping station replacement is complete.
