Overview and Using the Diagram (R2 Pro)

  1. Use the diagram to identify: The daughterboard ports (top half of the diagram).
  2. If the ribbon cables are original, locate the stickers labeling each cable.
  3. Match cable sticker labels to the chart shown on the left of the diagram.
  • The two printheads inside the carriage (printhead diagrams).

R2 Pro Cable Port Mapping and Orientation

  1. Identify which cables connect to the top port of the printhead using the chart.
  2. Identify which cables connect to the bottom port of the printhead using the chart.
  3. Ensure ribbon cable orientation is correct: Blue tape sides must face each other.
  4. When inserting into the daughterboard port: Blue tape must be on the specified side shown in the diagram.
  • Contact points (teeth) must face the specified side shown in the diagram.

Installing R2 Pro Ribbon Cables into the Daughterboard

  1. Position the ribbon cable against the port first.
  2. Press the ribbon cable straight downward into the port.
  3. Use firm, careful pressure to prevent damage to the ribbon cable.

  2. Identify the printhead sections in the diagram: Top half refers to the color printhead.
  3. Identify the daughterboard adapters: Left adapter is for the color printhead.

  5. Match the sticker labels to the chart shown on the left of the diagram.
  • Bottom half refers to the white printhead.
  • Right adapter is for the white printhead.

L Series Cable Port Mapping and Orientation
