Procedure Overview and Scope

  1. Confirm the printer model is a large format Prestige DTF printer, including models L2 through XL4.
  2. Understand this procedure ensures correct installation of the tension bar holder bracket to prevent premature wear of the media tension sensor.

Initial Preparation

  1. Power on the printer.
  2. Remove the film from the printer bed.

Removing Media Holders and Tension Bar

  1. Go to the back of the printer.
  2. Loosen the screws securing the media holders.
  3. Move the media holder to the right.
  4. Remove the media.
  5. Slide the right-side media holder to the left.
  6. Remove the screws securing the tension bar.
  7. Loosen the knob on the left media holder.
  8. Move the left media holder slightly to the right.
  9. Remove the screws from the left media holder.

Identifying Left and Right Media Holders

  1. Identify the left and right media holders before reinstallation.
  2. Verify the semicircular shaped tool is positioned on the top, not the bottom.
  3. Double-check orientation to ensure the correct holder is mounted on each side.

Reinstalling the Tension Bar Bracket

  1. Place the brackets back onto the printer.
  2. Insert the tension bar into the bracket grooves.
  3. Verify the tension bar moves freely up and down.
  4. Adjust the bracket position as needed.
  5. Tighten the screws to secure the brackets in place.
