Overview

  1. Remove the media from the printer.
  2. Raise the pinch roller lever.
  3. Roll the media up.
  4. Rotate the left knob counterclockwise.
  5. Slide the media bracket out.
  6. Catch the media and set it aside.

Remove Intake Filter Access Panel

  1. Remove the panel covering the intake filters.
  2. Remove all 8 screws securing the panel.
  3. Set the panel aside to expose the inlet filters.

Clamp Ink Line (Yellow Example)

  1. Identify the inlet filter for the ink color being replaced (yellow in this example).
  2. Clamp the ink line above the filter.

Prepare Carriage for Safe Access

  1. Open the top lid of the printer.
  2. Press the Left Arrow key once to disengage the carriage from the capping station.
  3. Press and hold the Left Arrow key to move the carriage to the center of the bed.
  4. Press the Emergency Stop button to power the printer off.

Remove Covers

  1. Loosen all screws on both sides of: Printer carriage cover
  2. Do not fully remove the screws.
  3. Remove both covers once loosened.
  • Daughterboard cover

Secure White Ink Lines

  1. Clamp all white ink lines.
  2. Place paper towels beside the carriage to catch ink.

Remove Diverter and White Dampers

  1. Remove the diverter by removing one screw on each side.
  2. Remove all white dampers.
  3. Place the dampers on the paper towels.

Remove Old Intake Filter

  1. Locate the ink tube connected to the intake filter being replaced.
  2. Clamp the ink line.
  3. Place paper towels under the filter area.
  4. Cut the tube above the filter: Cut straight across.
  5. Cut the tube on the opposite side of the filter.
  • Cut as close to the filter as possible.
  • If remaining tube length is too short, use the ink tube connectors and extensions provided with the printer.

Install New Intake Filter

  1. Identify the side of the new filter labeled “INLET”.
  2. Ensure the INLET side faces up.
  3. Push the ink tube onto the inlet side until fully flush.
  4. Push the opposite tube onto the other side of the filter.
  5. Ensure both tubes are fully seated to avoid air leaks. TIP
  • Use a paper towel for better grip if ink is on the tubing.

Prime the Line

  1. Unclamp the ink line.
  2. Go to the front of the printer.
  3. Use a syringe to pull ink from the damper.
  4. Verify: Steady ink flow
  • No air bubbles

Reinstall Components

  1. Reinstall the yellow damper.
  2. Reinstall all white dampers.
  3. Secure the diverter using the two screws.
  4. Release all white ink tube clamps.

Reassemble Covers

  1. Reinstall the printer carriage cover.
  2. Tighten all screws on both sides.
  3. Reinstall the daughterboard cover.
  4. Tighten all screws.

Power On & Cleanup

  1. Release the Emergency Stop button.
  2. Power the printer on.
  3. Allow the carriage to dock onto the capping station.
  4. Remove paper towels.
  5. Clean any spilled ink.
  6. Organize ink tubes and filters to avoid pinching.

Reinstall Intake Panel

  1. Reinstall the intake filter panel.
  2. Secure it using the original 8 screws.

Reinstall Media Feed Reel

  1. Slide the media bracket back onto the rails.
  2. Place media into position.
  3. Push the left bracket inward.
  4. Rotate the knob clockwise to tighten.

Reload Media

  1. Feed media under the tension rod from the back.
  2. Pull media through the front.
  3. Apply tension from both sides.
  4. Lower the pinch roller lever.
  5. Press the Down Arrow key to advance media.
  6. Position the media guides.

Perform Fill Ink & Cleaning

  1. Bypass the printer cover sensor using a metal object.
  2. On the control panel: Menu → Head Maintenance → Fill Ink → Two Head
  3. Run fill ink for 30 seconds (timer starts when ink flows).
  4. Press Cancel.
  5. Perform two head cleanings.

Final Nozzle Check

  1. Menu → Head Maintenance → Head Status.
  2. Print a nozzle check.
  • If nozzle check is good: Intake filter replacement is successful.
  • If nozzle check is poor: Contact DTF Station Tech Support.
