Overview & Preparation

Watch this part0:01
  1. Power the printer OFF and unplug it.
  2. Organize all screws as you remove them for proper reassembly.
  3. Remove media: Raise the pinch roller lever.
  • Roll the media up.
  • Rotate the left knob counterclockwise.
  • Slide the media bracket out.
  • Catch and set media aside.

Remove Intake Filter Panel

  1. Remove the intake filter panel.
  2. Remove all 8 screws securing the panel.
  3. Set the panel aside to expose the inlet filters.

Open Printer & Position Carriage

  1. Remove the two screws on the top of the printer.
  2. Open the front and top lids fully.
  3. Open the front lid.
  4. Rotate the capping station knob counterclockwise.
  5. Move the carriage to the center of the printer bed.

Remove Covers & Daughterboard

  1. Loosen all screws on both sides of: Printer carriage cover
  2. Remove both covers.
  3. Carefully remove the daughterboard adapter by pulling straight up.
  4. Take a photo of all daughterboard connections.
  5. Disconnect all daughterboard cables: Pull from plastic connectors only.
  6. Remove the four screws securing the daughterboard.
  7. Remove the daughterboard.
  • Daughterboard cover
  • Release socket cable latches before removing.

Remove Base Plate & Brackets

  1. Remove four screws securing the base plate.
  2. Remove the base plate.
  3. Remove two screws securing the front bracket.
  4. Lift the front, then unclamp the rear.
  5. Remove tape covering two screws and remove them.
  6. Push carriage back to capping station carefully.
  7. Rotate knob clockwise to lightly seal the print head.

Remove Internal Panels & Tubes

  1. Remove two screws and remove the next bracket.
  2. Push cables aside and remove two hidden screws.
  3. Remove six additional screws.
  4. Head to the back and clamp all ink tubes.
  5. Open side panel and release the ink tube organizer clip.
  6. Cut zip ties holding tube bundles.

Clamp Ink Tubes at Carriage

  1. Lower the capping station fully.
  2. Move the carriage to the center.
  3. Slide sleeves up to expose tube connectors.
  4. Slide ink clamps upward and clamp each tube.
  5. Repeat for all color ink tubes.

Disconnect Electrical Cables

  1. Locate two cables routing to the back.
  2. Follow and unplug the first cable (bottom port).
  3. Route cable back through the hole.
  4. Locate the second cable.
  5. Remove the panel to access its connector.
  6. Release latch and unplug.
  7. Cut zip ties and route cable through the hole.

Remove Side Door & Ink Tube Assembly

  1. Remove the side door by pulling the internal release lever.
  2. Place paper towels to catch ink.
  3. Slide out the long internal panel.
  4. Tape ribbon cable adapters to prevent ink contamination.
  5. Secure adapters out of the way with tape.
  6. Separate ink tubes at adapter connections.

Disconnect White Ink & Remaining Tubes

  1. Locate unlabeled connector and disconnect left tube.
  2. Cut adapter off and save it for reuse.
  3. Cut both white ink tubes near the plastic nozzles.
  4. Wrap tube ends with paper towels.
  5. Route and remove the entire ink tube assembly.
  6. Set old assembly aside.

Prepare New Ink Tube Assembly

  1. Move carriage back to capping station.
  2. Rotate knob clockwise to protect print head.
  3. Note wire positions: Brown wire far right
  4. Loosen terminal screws.
  5. Insert new assembly wires into correct terminals.
  6. Tighten firmly and pull-test each wire.
  • Blue wire second from right

Prepare Connectors & Diverter

  1. Remove leftover tube pieces from old adapters.
  2. Clean diverter nozzles (remove if needed).
  3. Install saved white ink adapter onto W2 tube.
  4. Push tube fully in to avoid air leaks.

Route New Ink Tube Assembly

  1. Route tubes through side opening.
  2. Create reverse “S” shape in tubing.
  3. Insert long internal panel through side.
  4. Route tubes under carriage and back over.
  5. Secure assembly to carriage with two screws.
  6. Adjust tube position to access screw holes.

Install Tube Brackets & Connectors

  1. Install tube support clip (bend faces rear).
  2. Secure with two screws.
  3. Insert new tube connectors into each tube.
  4. Reuse original ink tube clamps.
  5. Fully seat tubes to avoid air leaks.
  6. Organize tubing flat to avoid pinching.

Reinstall Daughterboard & Ground

  1. Install base plate and secure with four screws.
  2. Install daughterboard with three screws (leave one open).
  3. Reconnect all daughterboard cables using reference photo.
  4. Install ground wire and secure with final screw.
  5. Verify daughterboard layout matches reference.

Connect White & Color Ink Tubes

  1. Connect W1 tube to bottom diverter port.
  2. Connect W2 tube to top diverter port.
  3. Trim tube length if needed and reconnect.
  4. Connect all color tubes: Slide clamp on tube
  5. Secure diverter with two screws.
  • Connect to damper
  • Slide sleeve over connector

Reassemble Covers & Panels

  1. Remove protective tape.
  2. Reconnect ribbon cable adapter carefully.
  3. Install carriage cover loosely.
  4. Install daughterboard cover and tighten.
  5. Dock carriage onto capping station.

Secure Internal Panels & Cables

  1. Install long internal panel with six screws.
  2. Secure tube assembly to panel with two screws.
  3. Install cable bracket and secure with two screws.
  4. Route cables through bottom gap toward rear.
  5. Connect both rear electrical cables.
  6. Secure ground wire in rear panel.

Connect Pumps & Intake Filters

  1. Route W2 tube to internal pump.
  2. Trim tube length if needed.
  3. Remove pump assembly if necessary for access.
  4. Connect tube and reinstall pump.
  5. Connect all remaining tubes to intake filters.
  6. Trim tubes and fully seat onto filters.

Reinstall Media & Test

  1. Reinstall media feed reel.
  2. Feed media under tension rod.
  3. Apply even tension and lock pinch rollers.
  4. Advance media and set guides.

Fill Ink & Final Checks

  1. Bypass cover sensor with metal object.
  2. Menu → Head Maintenance → Fill Ink → Two Head.
  3. Run fill ink for 30 seconds (after ink flows).
  4. Cancel and perform two head cleanings.
  5. Watch for air bubbles in tubes.
  6. Print nozzle check: Menu → Head Maintenance → Head Status.
  • Good nozzle check: Ink tube assembly replacement successful.
  • Bubbles or poor nozzle check: Contact DTF Station Tech Support.
