- This guide covers Y motor belt replacement for the Prestige line of DTF printers.
- Procedures are separated by printer model due to mechanical differences.
Chapter 1 — Prestige R2 and R2 Pro
- Open the side panel.
- Locate the Y motor belt.
- Take a photo showing how deep the large wheel is positioned on the axle.
- Loosen the four Allen bolts on the large wheel.
- Rotate the wheel while gently pulling it outward.
- At the same time, push the belt toward the back until it comes off the wheel.
- Remove the large wheel completely.
- Install the replacement belt onto the smaller wheel.
- Reinstall the large wheel.
- Rotate the wheel while guiding the belt onto it bit by bit.
- Use the reference photo to set the correct wheel depth.
- Tighten all four Allen bolts.
- Close the side panel.
- Open the side panel.
- Locate the Y motor belt.
- Remove the rubber cap.
- Take a photo showing how deep the large wheel is positioned on the axle.
- Take a photo of the three connected cables for reference.
- Carefully unplug all three cables.
- Use an Allen wrench to loosen the Allen bolt on the large wheel.
- Rotate the wheel while gently pulling it outward.
- At the same time, push the belt toward the back until it comes off the wheel.
- Remove the large wheel.
- Install the replacement belt onto the smaller wheel.
- Reinstall the large wheel.
- Rotate the wheel while guiding the belt onto it bit by bit.
- Use the reference photo to set the correct wheel depth.
- Tighten the Allen bolt.
- Plug all three cables back in.
- Reinstall the rubber cap.
- Close the side panel.
- Open the side panel.
- Locate the Y motor belt.
- Remove the rubber cap.
- Take a photo showing how deep the large wheel is positioned on the axle.
- Loosen all four Allen bolts on the large wheel.
- Rotate the wheel as needed to fully loosen it.
- Loosen all four Allen bolts on the smaller wheel.
- Slowly pull both wheels outward at the same time until the belt comes off.
- Position the smaller wheel back onto the axle.
- Push the smaller wheel fully back into position.
- Tighten all four Allen bolts on the smaller wheel.
- Place the new belt in position as shown.
- Reinstall the large wheel.
- Rotate the wheel while pulling it outward and guiding the belt onto it.
- Use the reference photo to set the correct wheel depth.
- Tighten all four Allen bolts on the large wheel.
- Reinstall the rubber cap.
- Close the side panel.
