Step 1 – Power Down and Access Carriage Turn the printer completely off. Open the front cover. Lower the right-side compartment. Locate the knob and rotate it counterclockwise to release the carriage. Move the carriage to the center of the printer. Lift the top cover fully for access. Locate four screws on each side of the carriage. Loosen all screws without fully removing them. Remove the top casing. Remove the lower casing. Remove tape securing the ribbon cables for easier access. Move the carriage to the left. Place a towel or napkin underneath to protect against ink spills. Clamp the ink cartridges. Remove the two screws above the ink cartridges. Disconnect ribbon cables from the top board. Move ribbon cables safely to the left side. Remove the dampers and place them on the towel. Gently move ribbon cables aside. Locate the two screws at the back of the carriage. Use a long screwdriver to remove both screws. Allow the belt bracket to separate from the carriage.
Step 5 – Remove Belt from Bearings Go to the right side of the printer. Remove the two screws holding the bearing bracket. Remove the bracket. Use an Allen key to remove the center hex screw holding the belt. Open the left-side door panel. Carefully remove the belt from the left bearing. Remove remaining screws securing the belt. Remove and discard the old belt. Verify both sides of the belt have teeth facing the bracket. Ensure the belt is not twisted. Assemble the belt bracket: L-shaped plate on the bottom Place the flat plate on top. Install the bottom middle screw loosely to hold the bracket together. Slide one end of the belt into the first groove with teeth facing down. Install two screws to secure that end. Repeat the same steps for the opposite end. Tighten all screws once alignment is confirmed. Confirm bracket orientation: Screws facing up Feed the belt behind the ink carriage. Place the belt on the left bearing. Place the belt on the right bearing. Use the Allen key to secure the belt and bearing to the center screw hole. Verify both ends sit properly on bearings. Corner edge facing forward Reinstall the right-side bracket and screws. Move the belt bracket toward the left for visibility. Align the bracket onto the carriage ledge. Press down lightly on the belt to confirm proper seating. Hold the bracket in place and install the first screw. Install the second screw to secure the bracket fully. Reconnect ribbon cables to the top board. Reinstall dampers into position. Secure ink cable bracket with top screws. Unclamp ink cartridges. Tape ribbon cables neatly in place. Reinstall the main carriage casing. Tighten the four casing screws. Close the side door. Turn the printer on. Check for red warning lights. If red lights appear, power off and reseat ribbon cables.
Step 12 – Final Reassembly Turn the printer off. Install the top cover. Tighten the four top screws. Manually move the carriage side to side to confirm smooth motion. Move the carriage to the right. Close all printer doors. Open the capping station door. Rotate the knob clockwise to tighten. Connect the printer to the computer and power it on. In Hosonsoft, perform: X motor gear ratio calibration Send a test print to confirm proper operation. Fill ink for 30 seconds Two head cleanings Nozzle check What you need
