What you need
- Perform regular morning maintenance first
- Open the printer cover
- Open the capping station cover
- Press the Enter or Home button
- Ensure the print head carriage is centered
- Confirm the print head is tightly sealed on the capping station cap SECTION (00:00:48) Pulling Ink from the Waste Ink Tube
- Remove the waste ink tube from the waste ink bottle
- Securely connect the tube to the syringe
- Pull the syringe firmly to create suction

- Pull as strongly as possible and do not release
- Expect approximately 10 mL of air in the syringe
- This air is normal due to air inside the cap and tube SECTION (00:01:54) Second Syringe Pull
- Disconnect the syringe once resistance stops
- Remove ink from the syringe without pushing it back into the tube
- Reconnect the syringe
- Pull again with strong pressure
- Confirm the syringe fills mostly with ink and minimal air SECTION (00:02:37) Reassembly and Cleaning
- Reinsert the tube into the waste ink bottle
- Perform two head cleanings consecutively
- Confirm ink drains through the tube during cleaning SECTION (00:02:55) Visual Inspection During Cleaning SECTION (00:03:26) Final Steps
- Reload the media
- Close all covers
- Perform a nozzle check
- Compare results with the video example
- Begin printing if the nozzle check is acceptable
- Proceed only if nozzle check does not improve after maintenance
- Use this method only for persistent nozzle issues

- Inspect the print head
- Inspect the capping station cap rubber seal
- Inspect the capping station cap tube
- Inspect the tube connection to the capping station pump
- Verify the wiper blade contacts the print head surface
- Verify the capping station cap is centered on the print head
- Record a video if alignment appears incorrect
