What you need

  • Follow this guide if the motherboard indicator shows a red light or a DTF Station technician advises replacement
  1. Open DTF Station Pilot
  2. Go to the Advanced tab
  3. Ensure you are in Factory Setting
  4. Enter password: 61s
  5. Click Confirm
  6. Select Firmware
  7. Click Export Firmware
  8. Choose or create a folder
  9. Name the file as desired
  10. Click Save
  11. Press OK SECTION (00:01:05) Power Down Preparation
  12. Turn off the printer
  13. Unplug the power cord completely SECTION (00:01:20) Accessing the Motherboard
  14. Go to the back of the Prestige R1
  15. Remove the two rear panels covering the motherboard SECTION (00:01:30) Removing Flex Cables A, B, C, and D
  16. Identify thick flex cables labeled A, B, C, and D
  17. Use two hands to pull each cable straight out
  18. Move cables aside carefully SECTION (00:01:55) Removing the Power Socket Connector
  19. Hold the middle clip with your index finger

  21. Identify flex cable number two
  22. Pull straight out using two hands
  23. Avoid bending the cable SECTION (00:06:40) Removing the Ethernet Port
  24. Press down on the Ethernet port clips
  25. Pull the port straight out SECTION (00:06:55) Removing the Motherboard
  26. Use a screwdriver to remove the four mounting screws

  28. Place the new motherboard into position

  30. Reconnect all wires one by one
  31. Follow labels or reference photos

  33. Ensure silver contacts are straight
  34. Insert the cable into the slot

  36. Align connectors with their slots

  38. Reconnect the power cord
  39. Turn the printer on
  40. Check the motherboard indicator light

  42. Go to the front of the printer
  43. Power on the machine
  44. Open the Quick Start Guide
  45. Navigate to Important Resources
  46. Scan the QR code
  47. Open the DTF Station Pilot R1 folder
  48. Download the Motherboard Upgrade Package SECTION (00:12:50) Running the Motherboard Upgrade
  49. Go to Firmware Version Model subtab
  50. Click Update
  51. Navigate to the downloaded upgrade package
  52. Select the Prestige R1 motherboard package
  53. When prompted, check Motherboard Program
  54. Click Upgrade
  55. Press OK to continue SECTION (00:13:20) Restart After Upgrade
  56. Close the upgrade window
  57. Turn off the printer and Pilot software
  58. Wait 5 seconds
  59. Turn both back on SECTION (00:13:55) Import Saved Firmware
  60. Go to Advanced tab
  61. Enter password: 61s
  62. Select Import Firmware
  63. Choose the previously saved firmware file
  64. Select all options SECTION (00:14:30) X Gear Ratio Adjustment
  65. Perform X Gear Ratio calibration
  66. Confirm target move value is 100 SECTION (00:15:00) Carriage Recovery (If Stuck)
  67. Power off the printer
  68. Wait 5 seconds
  69. Apply light force to move carriage to center
  70. Power printer back on
  71. Redo X Gear Ratio SECTION (00:15:30) Final Ink and Cleaning Steps
  72. Exit Advanced mode
  73. Go to Settings tab
  74. Select Ink Charge
  75. Fill ink for 20 seconds
  76. Perform two consecutive head cleanings SECTION (00:16:00) Final Mechanical Checks SECTION (00:16:20) Final Verification
  77. Perform a nozzle check
  78. Confirm nozzle pattern is acceptable
  79. Resume printing if results are normal SECTION (00:16:40)
  • This procedure applies to the Prestige R1 DTF printer
  • Exporting firmware before replacement is required
  • Screwdriver
  • Label stickers
  • Gloves
  • New motherboard
  • Do not bend cables
  • Bending may cause damage
  • Do not pull on the wires
  • Use the video reference if unsure how the clip works
  • Apply label stickers to wires if needed
  • Take photos of wire orientation
  • Wire positions may differ between machines
  • Do not bend the connector
  • Do not angle or force
  • Bent prongs can damage the motherboard
  • Red light indicates an error
  • If red light appears, power off and recheck all connections
  • If red light persists, contact DTF Station
  • Replace the rear panels once the board passes inspection
  • Parameter loading may take up to 1 minute
  • If parameters fail to load, repeat the upgrade
  • Do not allow value to be 1000
  • Open front cover during cleaning
  • Verify print head is centered on capping station
  • Confirm wiper blade contacts print head surface
  • Motherboard replacement is complete
