Before you start

What you need

  • Replace the print head if you experience clogs, burnouts, or ink ejection issues
  1. Insert the print head cables into the print head connector
  2. Align cable prongs with the slot and push straight in
  3. Confirm cable is fully seated
  4. Straighten any bent prongs using a lint-free cloth, isopropyl alcohol, and a nail if needed
  5. Wear gloves and apply a thin layer of authorized waterproof sealant over the connector area

  7. Remove the film from the printer bed
  8. Move the print head carriage to the center
  9. Remove the print head cover by loosening and removing the screws
  10. Use a magnetic screwdriver to prevent dropping screws
  11. Wear gloves during this process SECTION (00:02:55) Disconnecting the Old Print Head
  12. Unplug the print head cables from the carriage board by pulling straight out
  13. Avoid wiggling the cables to prevent board damage
  14. Remove the left damper
  15. Remove the two screws securing the print head
  16. Lightly reseat the left damper
  17. Repeat the process for the right damper
  18. Loosen all dampers and seat them into the new print head SECTION (00:05:08) Installing the New Print Head
  19. Remove the old print head from the carriage
  20. Install the new print head into position
  21. Gently wiggle the print head to confirm proper seating
  22. Insert all four mounting screws without tightening
  23. Hold the print head down lightly and tighten screws one at a time

  25. Verify cable prongs and slot pins are aligned
  26. Match left cable to left slot and right cable to right slot
  27. Align cable edges flush with the slot
  28. Push cables straight in firmly
  29. Use a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol to correct bent prongs if needed
  30. Lightly bend and place cables neatly inside the carriage SECTION (00:07:39) Initial Power Check
  31. Turn the printer on
  32. Open the back cover
  33. Check the daughterboard indicator light
  34. Turn off the printer immediately if a red light is visible
  35. Reseat print head cables and retry
  36. If red light persists, remove both cables and power on
  37. Contact a DTF Station technician if the board light remains red SECTION (00:08:33) Final Assembly
  38. Move the carriage to the center
  39. Power off the printer
  40. Install the print head cover
  41. Confirm all dampers are fully seated
  42. Prime dampers by pulling 1 mL of ink with a syringe if needed SECTION (00:09:58) Post-Installation Setup
  43. Turn the printer back on
  44. Perform fill ink for 30 seconds
  45. Run two head cleanings consecutively

  • Place the print head assembly in the print head box
  • Allow the sealant to dry for at least 1 hour
  • Do not squeeze the damper belly
  • Ensure dampers are aligned correctly
  • Always insert and remove print head cables in a straight line
  • Insert all four print head screws before tightening
