  1. This guide covers how to replace ink filters on Prestige XL2 and L2 printers.
  2. Ink filters are secured using luer lock fittings.
  3. Expect minor ink spillage during this process.

Step 1 – Remove Rear Panel

  1. Power off the printer.
  2. Locate the rear metal panel covering the ink filters.
  3. Unscrew and remove all screws securing the panel.
  4. Remove the panel and set it aside.

Step 2 – Remove Metal Bracket

  1. Locate the metal bracket holding the ink filters in place.
  2. Remove the three screws securing the bracket.
  3. Remove the bracket to expose the ink filters.

Step 3 – Prepare for Ink Filter Removal

What you need

  • Place a towel or absorbent cloth underneath the ink filters.
  • This will catch any ink that may spill during removal.

Step 4 – Remove Old Ink Filter

  1. Locate the ink filter you want to replace.
  2. Rotate the filter clockwise about a quarter turn to release it from the top tube.
  3. Repeat the same clockwise quarter-turn motion to disconnect it from the bottom tube.
  4. Remove the ink filter completely.

Step 5 – Install New Ink Filter

  1. Take the new ink filter.
  2. Locate the side labeled “INLET”.
  3. Ensure the INLET side is facing upward.
  4. Attach the filter to the bottom tube using a quarter-turn rotation.
  5. Attach the top tube using the same quarter-turn rotation.
  6. Confirm both connections are secure.

Step 6 – Reinstall Metal Bracket

  1. Place the metal bracket back into its original position.
  2. Secure it using the three screws removed earlier.
  3. Ensure the bracket holds the ink filters firmly in place.

Step 7 – Reinstall Rear Panel

  1. Place the rear metal panel back onto the printer.
  2. Reinstall and tighten all screws that were previously removed.

Step 8 – Remove Air from Ink Line

  1. Perform a manual ink pull to remove any air bubbles introduced during the filter replacement.
  2. Refer to the manual pull instructional video for proper procedure.

Completion

  • Ink filter replacement is complete.
  • Ink flow should now be restored with no air in the lines.
