DESCRIPTION This guide walks through replacing the capping station pump and verifying proper installation.

Step 1 – Access the Capping Station

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Release the printer carriage.
  3. Move the carriage away from the capping station to create working space.
  4. Using a screwdriver, remove the five screws securing the capping station cover.
  5. Remove the capping station cover.

Step 2 – Disconnect the Pump Cable

  1. Locate the cable tie securing the pump cable.
  2. Use scissors to cut the cable tie.
  3. Identify the cable corresponding to the pump being replaced.
  4. Disconnect the pump cable.

Step 3 – Remove the Old Pump

  1. Open the right-side door of the printer.
  2. Locate the pump that corresponds to the disconnected cable.
  3. Remove the two mounting screws holding the pump in place.
  4. Pull the pump out.
  5. Disconnect the ink tube by twisting to unlock.
  6. Pull the cable fully out of the printer.

Step 4 – Install the New Pump

  1. Take the new pump.
  2. Connect the ink tubes to the pump.
  3. Twist to the right to fully tighten the tube connections.
  4. Feed the pump cable all the way through the printer.
  5. Insert the pump into its mounting slot.
  6. Secure the pump using the two mounting screws.
  7. Connect the pump cable.
  8. Use a zip tie to secure the cable neatly and keep it out of the way.

Step 5 – Reassemble and Test

  1. Reinstall the capping station cover.
  2. Secure the cover using the five screws removed earlier.
  3. Turn the printer ON.
  4. Perform a head cleaning. VERIFICATION CHECK
  • If ink flows through the lines during cleaning:
  • The pump has been installed correctly.
  • If ink does not flow:
  • Recheck tube connections, cable connection, and pump seating.
