This guide explains how to update the **motherboard** and **firmware parameters** required for proper operation of DTF Station Pilot on the Prestige R1. Follow this process only after downloading the correct motherboard upgrade file and firmware parameter file. Prerequisites Backing Up Current Firmware

  • Download the following files (from the Pilot download video/resources):
  • Motherboard upgrade package (Prestige R1)
  • Firmware parameter file
  • DTF Station Pilot installed and able to launch

1. Open Advanced Mode

  1. Launch **DTF Station Pilot**.
  2. Click the **Advanced** tab.
  3. Enter the password: **61111111**
  4. Click **Confirm**.

2. Export Current Firmware (Backup)

  1. Go to the **Firmware** tab.
  2. Click **Export Firmware**.
  3. Create a folder **outside of your Desktop**.
  4. Name the file: `[Today’s Date] – Before Update`
  5. Save the file. Importing New Firmware Parameters

3. Import Firmware Parameters

  1. Stay in the **Firmware** tab.
  2. Click **Import Firmware**.
  3. Navigate to your **Downloads** folder.
  4. Select the downloaded firmware parameter file.
  5. Check: **Factory Firmware**
  6. Click **OK**. Updating the Motherboard

4. Open Firmware Version Model

  1. Close the Advanced window.
  2. Click the **Advanced** tab again.
  3. Go to **Firmware Version Model** subtab.
  4. Click **Update**.

5. Select Motherboard Upgrade Package

  1. Navigate to your **Downloads** folder.
  2. Select the **Prestige R1 motherboard upgrade package**.

6. Run Motherboard Update

  1. When the upgrade window appears: Check **Motherboard Program**.
  2. Click **Upgrade**.
  3. Immediately click **OK** to continue. Rebooting the Printer

7. Power Cycle

  2. Turn **OFF** the printer.
  3. Wait **5 seconds**.
  4. Turn the printer **ON**.
  5. Allow up to **1 minute** for: Motherboard reboot Error Handling

Post-Update Configuration

  • Error examples:
  • “Failed to obtain parameter”

  • Contact **DTF Station Technical Support** immediately.

8. Verify Settings

  1. If the device initializes correctly: Go to the **Settings** tab.
  2. Copy the settings exactly as shown in the reference video. X-Gear Ratio Setup (Critical)

9. Run X-Gear Ratio

  1. Go back to the **Advanced** tab.
  2. Enter the password again: **61111111**
  3. Start the **X-Gear Ratio** process.

10. Important Safety Setting

⚠️ Warning:

  • Change **Target Move** value to:
  • **100**
  • Do NOT leave it at **1000**.
  • If left at 1000 and you click **Check**, the print head carriage may get stuck on the right side.

If the Carriage Gets Stuck

  1. Turn the printer **OFF**.
  2. Wait **5 seconds**.
  3. Gently move the print head carriage to the **center**.
  4. Turn the printer **ON**.
  5. Restart the X-Gear Ratio process. Saving Updated Firmware

11. Save & Export Updated Firmware

  1. Once X-Gear Ratio is complete: Click **File** → **Save**.
  2. Return to the **Firmware** tab.
  3. Click **Export Firmware**.
  4. Save to the same folder as the backup.
  5. Name the file: `[Today’s Date] – After Update`

  • Close DTF Station Pilot.
  • Motherboard and firmware update process is complete.
  • Keep both **Before Update** and **After Update** firmware files for records and recovery.
