Filter Maintenance Guidelines

Initial Preparation and Nozzle Check

  1. Open DTF Station Pilot software.
  2. Perform a nozzle check to confirm all nozzles are firing correctly.
  3. Open the printer cover.
  4. Check the print start position.
  5. Adjust the print start position so it is close to the media guide to maximize printable width.
  6. If the printer has been idle for more than 20 minutes, perform another nozzle check before printing.
  7. Ensure nozzle check quality is 90% or higher.
  8. Refer to the morning procedure or contact DTF Station technicians if acceptable nozzle check quality cannot be achieved.

Positioning the Miro 13 Max

  1. Move the Miro 13 Max to the front of the printer.
  2. Raise the preheating platen.
  3. Adjust the height so the film touches the front preheating platen during printing.
  4. If the optional Print Pro table is not used, move the Miro 13 Max further out as needed.
  5. Align the preheating platen with the center of the printer bed and film.
  6. Press the down button to release the film into the center position.
  7. Lock the wheels on both the printer and the Miro 13 Max to prevent movement.

Media Wheel Setup

  1. Remove the media wheel from the powder station.
  2. Measure the width of the film.
  3. Lightly tighten the media wheel.
  4. Avoid overtightening screws to prevent bending the rod.
  5. Adjust wheel position if the film tilts during printing.
  6. Press the down button to advance the film to the preheating platen.

DigiRIP Setup and File Preparation

  1. Open DigiRIP software.
  2. Select the correct print mode based on the film type.
  3. Verify whether Color Prime Universal film or Color Prime Quick Glide film is loaded.
  4. Import images by dragging files, pressing the open button, or selecting File and Import.

  6. Import at least 100 inches of prints or approximately 10 images for optimal Miro 13 Max operation.
  7. Press the print job icon to start printing.

Print Troubleshooting Checks

Preheating and Film Feeding

  2. Confirm the power cord is securely connected.
  3. Activate the preheating feature.
  4. Set the preheating temperature to 50 C initially.
  5. Increase temperature only if powder residue does not release easily.
  6. Pause printing when the print reaches the edge of the preheating platen.
  7. Feed the film into the Miro 13 Max oven.
  8. Unlock the oven covers on both sides if the oven cannot be opened.
  9. Use provided clamps to hold the film down with weight.
  10. Gently pull the film toward the back.
  11. Resume printing.

Powder Station and Media Wheel Engagement

  1. Pause printing again when the printed image reaches the bottom of the powder station.
  2. Attach the media wheel to the grooved section of the powder station.
  3. Pull the clamp to the edge of the oven.
  4. Close and lock the oven top cover.
  5. Resume printing.
  6. Turn on main heating, purifier, and shaking power.
  7. Set heating temperature to the default 130 C.
  8. Adjust temperature later if curing conditions require it.
  9. Adjust shaking speed using the control knob.
  10. Pour a small amount of powder into the media wheel.
  11. Avoid overfilling the media wheel.

Film Takeup and Completion

  1. Pull the film manually to maintain alignment as slack forms.
  2. Continue pulling until the film reaches the takeup reel motor.
  3. Pause printing one final time when sufficient slack is present.
  4. Remove the clamps carefully.
  5. Feed the film under the tension rod.
  6. Tape the film to the takeup reel.
  7. Turn on the takeup reel motor.
  8. Resume printing.
  9. Add powder as needed, ensuring only the media wheel rod is covered.
  10. Monitor takeup reel operation.
  11. Confirm automatic operation via the media wheel detecting sensor.

Final Film Advancement and Cutting

  1. Open Pilot software and review past jobs or latest job speed.
  2. Click the advanced film button.
  3. Set advancing increment to 300 mm minimum, recommended 300 to 500 mm.
  4. Adjust film feed speed to match linear meters per hour.
  5. Press forward to advance the film.
  6. When film stops, open the printer cover.
  7. Use a blade to detach the film from the printer.
  8. Slowly feed prints into the Miro 13 Max.
  9. Reduce or turn off shaking paddle speed once film enters the oven.
  10. Deactivate the takeup reel motor.
  11. Drop the final portion of film into the powder station.
  12. Wait 1 to 2 minutes to cure the last section.
  13. Wearing gloves, manually rotate the takeup reel to remove film.
  14. Roll film slowly to prevent image sticking.

End-of-Day Maintenance - Miro 13 Max

  1. Open the main oven chamber.
  2. Turn off all power except main power and purifier.
  3. Allow the purifier to run for 5 additional minutes.
  4. Detach the Miro 13 Max from the printer.
  5. Lower the preheating platen.
  6. Turn off the purifier and main power.
  7. Brush off excess powder from the chamber.
  8. Wipe oven surfaces using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
  9. Clean oven sides, focusing on the right side near wiring.
  10. Wipe the top oven surface.
  11. Close the oven cover.
  12. Clean the outer filter cover.
  13. Open the filter cover and clean around the fan.
  14. Replace purifier filter, air vent filter, and fabric top cover monthly.

Powder Station Cleaning

  1. Brush powder off the preheating platen.
  2. Wipe the platen using isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Remove the media wheel and clean off powder residue.
  4. Clean the rod with isopropyl alcohol if needed.
  5. Brush powder inside the powder station toward the bottom tray.
  6. Clean around the sensor carefully without scratching.
  7. Gently wipe the sensor face with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
  8. Remove the bottom powder tray.
  9. Pour powder into a lidded container.
  10. Store powder in a controlled room around 70 F with humidity below 35%.
  11. Keep used powder separate and mix gradually with new powder.
  12. Reinstall the media wheel.
  13. Close the powder station cover.
  14. Cover the unit with an equipment cover.

Heat Pressing the Transfer

What you need

  • Universal film: 150 C for 10 seconds, warm peel, optional second press 10 seconds
  • Quick Glide film: 140 C for 10 seconds, hot peel, optional second press 10 seconds
  • Peel Quick Glide immediately
  • Allow Universal film to cool at least 5 seconds before peeling
  • Optional second press improves hand feel
  • Alternative covers include cotton, polyester, canvas, or parchment paper
  1. Turn on the heat press.
  2. Set appropriate temperature, time, and pressure.
  3. Thread the garment onto the bottom platen and center it.
  4. Pre-press the garment for 5 to 10 seconds.
  5. Place the transfer film onto the garment.
  6. Cover with a Teflon sheet.
