Taking a spot color file from Image Presto into NeoStampa, then printing and cutting it on the Lumen S24F. Assumes the printer driver and the Lumen print scheme are already installed; your DTF Station installer sets both up.

Written steps9

Start a new document

Watch this part0:12
  1. In NeoStampa, start a new document.
  2. Choose your Lumen printer, then the Lumen S24F print scheme, and click OK.

Import the TIFF

Watch this part0:26
  1. Click Import, or drag your file onto the canvas.
  2. Select the multi-channel TIFF you exported from Image Presto and click Open.
  3. The Lumen print scheme already holds the settings this job needs. You only size the design, make copies and add the cut line.

Size the design and make copies

Watch this part0:49
  1. Set the size. Here, about 12 cm wide.
  2. Open Mosaic and enter the number of copies. No gap is needed between the copies.
  3. Click Apply.

Set the cut line

Watch this part1:11
  1. Open Contour Selection. Cut Shape Outline is on, with the distance at zero, so the cut stays outside the print.
  2. Tick Cut Internal Shapes, then click Apply.

Add registration marks and the QR code

Watch this part1:29
  1. Open Contour Cut.
  2. The QR code needs a numerical job name, so rename the job with a number.
  3. The QR code now appears with the registration marks.
  • A job name with letters in it gives the error "The QR requires a numerical job name". Use digits only, for example 20260908.

Print the job

Watch this part1:48
  1. Click Print. Send the job over TCP/IP, or save it as a print file.
  2. The job starts printing.

Create the cut file

Watch this part1:59
  1. When printing is done, click Cut.
  2. Tick Enable 2-Pen Mode and Reverse Cut.
  3. Click Cut to create the cut file. That is the everyday workflow.

What the print scheme sets: white and varnish

Watch this part2:12
  1. Open the print scheme with the three-dots button.
  2. Open Ink Setup, then White. Its mode is set to Off, not Flat, so white prints only where your spot channels place it, never as a flood.
  3. Varnish is set to Off as well.

What the print scheme sets: the color replacement table

Watch this part2:49
  1. Open the Color tab. The Color Replacement Table uses the Lumen S24F Spot Color Preset.
  2. Open it to review the entries. There are four, two for white and two for varnish, because Image Presto files can carry up to four spot channels.
  3. Open a varnish entry. The color mode is KCMYWV and Apply Ink Control is turned off. Every channel is zero except varnish, at 100%.
  4. The white entries work the same way, only with white at 100%.
  5. With these presets in place, you can print Image Presto files without changing a thing.
  • Never edit the Lumen print scheme. White and varnish must stay Off, and the Color Replacement Table must stay on the Lumen S24F Spot Color Preset, or white and varnish flood the design or vanish from it.
