This guide explains how to properly replace and calibrate the **wiper blade** on a **Prestige L2 DTF printer**, including mechanical installation and final height calibration using DTF Station Pilot. Preparation & Safety

1. Position the Carriage

  1. Turn the printer **ON**.
  2. Open the **front cover**.
  3. Press and hold the **Left Arrow** key until the carriage moves fully to the left.

2. Power Down

  1. Turn the printer **OFF**.
  2. Unplug the power cable.
  3. Wait **30 seconds**. Remove Capping Station Cover

3. Remove Cover

  1. Remove **five screws** securing the capping station cover.
  2. Remove the cover.
  • Do **NOT** use a power drill (risk of stripping plastic threads).

4. Clean Area

Remove Old Wiper Blade

  • Use a **lint-free cloth** and **cleaning solution**.
  • Clean all visible ink buildup around the capping station.

5. Remove Wiper Bracket

  1. Locate and remove the **two screws** securing the wiper blade bracket.
  2. Remove the entire bracket assembly.

6. Document Blade Position

  • Take a **photo** of the original wiper blade position for reference.

7. Remove Wiper Blade

  1. Remove the **three screws** holding the wiper blade.
  2. Remove the blade.

8. Clean Components

Install New Wiper Blade

  • Clean:
  • The wiper blade bracket
  • The capping station mounting area

9. Blade Orientation

  • The **curved edge** of the wiper blade must tilt **toward the L-bracket side**.

10. Install Blade Loosely

  1. Insert **one screw** through the L-bracket side into the opposite metal panel.
  2. Install the remaining **two screws** the same way.
  • Do **not** fully tighten.

11. Align Blade

Examples:

  • Match the original blade height as closely as possible.
  • Ensure the blade is:
  • **Straight**
  • **Even across both print heads**
  • ❌ Crooked blade → wipes only one head
  • ✅ Straight blade → wipes both heads evenly

12. Tighten Screws

Reinstall Assembly

  • Once aligned, slowly tighten all three screws.

13. Reinstall Wiper Assembly

  1. Place the bracket back onto the capping station.
  2. **Do NOT place past the ridge line** (this raises the blade too high).
  3. Secure with **two screws**.

14. Reinstall Cover

  1. Place the capping station cover back on.
  2. Secure with **five screws**.
  1. Plug the printer back in.
  2. Turn the printer **ON**.
  3. Wait until status shows **Idle**. Software Calibration (Critical)

16. Enter Advanced Mode

  1. Open **DTF Station Pilot**.
  2. Go to **Advanced**.
  3. Enter password: **111**
  4. Click **Confirm**.

17. Open Inkstack Tab

  • Locate the **Inkstack Height** value.
  • This value controls the **effective height of the wiper blade**.

18. Test Physical Contact

  1. On the printer, press **Left Arrow once** to disengage from the capping station.
  2. Move the carriage left/right over the wiper blade.
  3. Check for contact: If touching → blade is too high
  • If no contact → blade is too low

19. Fine Adjustment

  1. Click **Confirm** to test the current value.
  2. Adjust value incrementally: Lower value → blade goes down
  3. Click **Confirm** after each change. Goal: Blade touches the print head **without bending**. Final Verification
  • Higher value → blade goes up

20. Head Cleaning Test

  1. Start a **Head Cleaning**.
  2. Observe the wipe: ✅ Correct: smooth wipe, no bending Save & Backup Configuration
  • ❌ Too low: no contact
  • ❌ Too high: blade flicks ink sideways

23. Export Firmware (Recommended)

  1. Go to **Firmware**.
  2. Click **Export Firmware Configuration**.
  3. Save with filename including today’s date.
  4. Click **OK**.
  5. Export **Firmware Configuration Parameter** as well.
  6. Save with today’s date.
