Hoson/Print Exp - How to Upgrade to Pilot

This guide explains how to upgrade from the legacy HosonSoft software to **DTF Station Pilot**. The process includes upgrading the motherboard, verifying compatibility, installing Pilot, and importing firmware parameters. Required Files (From Tech Support)

You should receive: Step 1 — Upgrade Motherboard in HosonSoft

• Pilot installation package
• Firmware files for your printer (example: Prestige R2)
• Motherboard upgrade package
• Compatible with:
• Prestige R2
• Prestige R2 Pro
• Aries 113

1. Launch the **old HosonSoft** software.
2. Click **Advanced**.
3. Select **Version Info**.
4. Check the **first four digits** of the version number to confirm printer compatibility.

1. Click **Upgrade**.
2. Select the **motherboard upgrade file**.
3. Ensure file type is **.UPF**.
4. Confirm the checkbox is ticked.
5. Click **Upgrade**.

1. Wait for the upgrade to finish (may take a few minutes).
2. Click **OK**.
3. Click **Save** before closing HosonSoft. Step 2 — Power Cycle & Verify Upgrade

1. Turn the printer **OFF**.
2. Wait **5 seconds**.
3. Turn the printer **ON**.
4. Reopen **HosonSoft**.

1. Click **OK**.
2. Go to **Advanced** → **Version Info**.
3. Click **Refresh**.
4. Message indicating version mismatch confirms: Motherboard upgrade was successful. Step 3 — Install DTF Station Pilot

• You may see an initialization delay or error.

• Fully close the legacy software before continuing.

1. Double-click the **Pilot installation file**.
2. Select your language.
3. Click **Next**.
4. Select **TCP Link**.
5. Click **Next**.
6. (Optional) Create a desktop shortcut.
7. Click **Next** → **Install**.
8. Continue through prompts.
9. Click **Finish** (twice if prompted). Step 4 — Verify Compatibility in Pilot

1. Open **DTF Station Pilot**.
2. Click **Advanced**.
3. Go to **Firmware Version Model**.
4. Verify: Motherboard version are compatible. Step 5 — Import Firmware Parameters

• Software version

1. Click **Advanced Menu**.
2. Enter the provided password.
3. Click **Confirm**.

1. Go to the **Firmware** tab.
2. Click **Import Firmware Configuration**.
3. Select the file: File type: **.BSFX**
4. Tick the required checkbox.
5. Click **OK** → **OK**.

1. Click **Import Firmware Configuration Parameter**.
2. Select the file: File type: **.XT FX**
3. Tick the **first three** checkboxes.
4. Click **OK** → **OK**. Step 6 — Save & Initialize

1. Click **File** → **Save**.
2. Click **OK**.

1. Go to **Operation**.
2. Click **Initialize**.
3. This ensures all firmware and settings are applied.

DTF Station Pilot software upgrade is complete.

• DTF Station Pilot is now fully installed and configured.
• Motherboard and firmware parameters are properly aligned.
• You may proceed with normal operation.
