How to Use the Hot Folder Feature in DigiRIP

  1. This guide explains how the **Hot Folder** feature works in DigiRIP.
  2. Hot Folders allow DigiRIP to automatically import (and optionally print) files when they are dropped into a designated folder.

Creating a Hot Folder

  1. Open **DigiRIP**.
  2. Select the queue you want to use.
  3. Double-click the queue to open **Q Properties**.
  4. Select **Hot Folders**.
  5. Check **Enable Hot Folder**.
  6. Create a new folder: Choose the folder name
  7. With the folder selected, click **OK**.
  8. Click **OK** again to save.
  9. Double-click the queue again to confirm the Hot Folder is enabled.

Scheduling Options

  1. In **Q Properties**, go to **Scheduling Options**.
  2. Choose how jobs should be handled: **Hold RIP** (rip now, print later)
  3. Select the option that fits your setup.
  4. Click **OK**.

Using the Hot Folder

  1. Exit **DigiRIP**.
  2. Navigate to the Hot Folder location (example: Desktop).
  3. Drag and drop an image into the Hot Folder.
  4. DigiRIP will automatically: Detect the file
  5. Based on your scheduling option: The job may hold
  • Import it into the queue
  • Or send immediately for printing

Importing Multiple Files

  1. Drag multiple images into the Hot Folder at once.
  2. DigiRIP will import all files.
  3. Jobs will follow the selected scheduling rules.

Additional Notes

  • Hot Folders can also be used with **PRN files**.
  • Dropping a PRN file into the Hot Folder can trigger immediate printing.
  • This feature is currently available in **DigiRIP** and will be available in additional CADlink software versions.
