This video explains how the “Allow Job Rotation When Block Nesting” feature works and how to adjust spacing between jobs and copies to optimize layouts for the Arc 127 cutter. The Prestige XL3 driver is used as an example, but these settings apply to all drivers.

Access Queue Properties

Watch this part0:18
  1. Access Queue Properties by: Double-clicking the queue tab, or
  2. The Queue Properties window will open.
  • Clicking “Queue” in the top menu and selecting “Properties.”

Allow Job Rotation When Block Nesting

Watch this part0:41
  1. When “Allow Job Rotation When Block Nesting” is checked: DigiRIP automatically rotates and adjusts images to create an optimized layout.
  2. Limitation: Manual job rotation is disabled.
  • This helps maximize available space.
  • The rotate option under AutoNest will be grayed out.

Manual Rotation Option

Watch this part0:58
  1. Import an image to view layout behavior.
  2. Observe that manual rotation is unavailable when the option is enabled.
  3. Uncheck “Allow Job Rotation When Block Nesting.”
  4. Manual rotation is now enabled and can be adjusted as needed.

When to Enable or Disable This Option

Watch this part1:09
  • Enabled:
  • Best for automatic layout optimization.
  • Disabled:
  • Best when you want full control over image orientation.
  • DigiRIP generally optimizes well, but may not always match preferred layouts.

Space Between Jobs vs Space Between Copies

Watch this part1:22
  1. Space Between Jobs: Controls spacing between different, unique images in the queue.
  2. Space Between Copies: Controls spacing between identical copies of the same image.

Default Spacing Values

Watch this part1:33
  • For DTF workflows using the Arc 127 with the Prestige XL3 driver:
  • Space Between Jobs: 1 mm
  • Space Between Copies: 1 mm

Spacing Demonstration

Watch this part1:44
  1. Create a copy of an image in the Job sub-tab.
  2. Observe the default 1 mm spacing between copies.

Adjust Spacing Values

Watch this part1:52
  1. Return to Queue Properties.
  2. Open the Layout Manager.
  3. Change both spacing values to 10 mm.
  4. Import a new image and create copies.
  5. Observe the increased spacing between images.

You now understand how job rotation, block nesting, and spacing settings affect layout optimization for the Arc 127 cutter.
