Accessing the Settings Tab

Suction (Printer Bed Vacuum)

What you need

  • Off is the recommended setting for normal operation.

  2. Confirm pre-flashing spits ink onto the capping station cap before printing or nozzle checks.
  3. Locate Auto Clean.
  4. Leave Auto Clean set to Close by default.
  5. Select Clean Flush for quick pre-flashing into caps.
  6. Select Clean Weak for standard head cleaning.
  7. Select Clean Normal for longer cleaning with higher pump pressure.
  8. Select Clean Strong for extended cleaning time.

Carriage Margin Settings

What you need

  • Disabling Together causes the carriage to travel full media width and slows printing.
  • Disabling Auto Reset causes the carriage to continue using the previous image width.
  1. Set Type to Together.
  2. Enable Auto Reset by selecting Yes.
  3. Confirm the carriage limits movement to the image width.
  4. Leave Auto Reset enabled so the carriage resets after each job.

Media Settings – Print Start Position

Confidence Strip Settings

  • Confidence strip prevents CMYK inks from drying during long white prints.
  • Printing on both sides increases carriage travel and slows printing.

  2. Select Weaving as the minimum recommended option.
  3. Optionally select Weaving and Status for best quality.
  4. Set Position to the side closest to the print head home position.
  5. Set Strength to Normal.
  6. Set Width to 3 mm.
  7. Set Distance to at least 1 mm away from the printed image.

Print Overlap Settings

  3. Increase white ink multiplier to double white ink output.

Load B Film (Laminating Film)

Vacuum and Reel Preparation

  2. Set vacuum intensity between 4 and 6 depending on film thickness.
  3. Turn both reel tension knobs counterclockwise to loosen them.

Load A Film (Print Film)

  1. Verify the A film unrolls from the top.
  2. Turn the black knobs counterclockwise to unlock and move the feeding reels outward.
  3. Lock the left feeding reel in place.
  4. Slide the A film roll into the left reel.
  5. Confirm the film still unrolls from the top.
  6. Bring the right reel inward until snug against the roll.
  7. Lock the right reel by turning the black knob.
  8. Unroll the A film.
  9. Guide the film under the large rod.
  10. Feed the film onto the printer bed and vacuum platen.

Feed Film to Heating Roller

  1. Move to the front of the printer.
  2. Disengage the heating roller by turning the knob on the right side.
  3. Pull additional A film forward.
  4. Feed the film through the gap until it overlaps with the B film.
  5. Check that the film is centered.
  6. Adjust the A film position from the feeding reels if needed.
  7. Re-engage the heating roller by turning the same knob.

Remove Protective Layer and Route Film

  2. Use a blade to carefully score the protective layer.

Laminate A and B Films

  • Approximately 0.25 inches on the edge has no adhesive
  1. Pull the B film forward until it reaches the adhesive layer of the A film.
  2. Center the B film over the A film.
  3. Press the B film down to adhere it.
  4. Press and hold the down button on the touchscreen to slowly advance the film through the heating roller.
  5. Gently pull the A film downward by hand to prevent bunching.
  6. Support the heating roller as the film advances.
  7. Center the front takeup reel to the combined film.
  8. Loosen the black knob on the motor.
  9. Switch the motor to position two.

Tension Adjustment Guidelines

  • Front takeup reel tension must be balanced and not too tight
  • Excess tension can cause slipping, bunching, heating roller wear, or poor print quality
  • B film feeding rod tension should remain low

  • Excess tension can pull A film when the printer is idle

Importing, Modifying, and Saving Image and Job Files

  • CPS files can only be opened in Neostampa
  • PRT files can only be opened in DTF Station Pilot
  • Do not move or use PRT files until processing is complete
  • Ensure the correct scheme is selected when reopening CPS files
  1. Click New Job.
  2. Select the Prestige R1 printer.
  3. Select the 720x440 scheme.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Import an image using one of the following methods: Click Add File and select an image.
  6. Confirm a new tab is created for each imported job or batch.
  7. Select the first batch tab.
  8. Resize images as needed.
  9. Make copies of images as needed.
  10. Click Nesting.
  11. Set the nesting margin to 0.25 to allow space for cutting.
  12. Click File.
  13. Click Save.
  14. Select Desktop as the save location.
  15. Save the file as a CPS file.
  16. Close the first batch tab.
  17. Select the second batch tab.
  18. Import a new image.
  19. Resize and rotate the image.
  20. Use Ctrl + C to copy and Ctrl + V to paste copies as needed.
  21. Click Nesting and adjust the margin if required.
  22. Click Print instead of Save.

Reopening CPS Files and Creating PRT Files

  2. On the right-hand side, click White Effect Layer.
  3. Under Flat method, locate the intensity percentage.
  4. Reduce intensity (example: set to 70) if white ink is too heavy.

  6. Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
  7. Select the correct profile next to the five-color option.
  8. Click the profile icon.
  9. Select White Ink.

  14. Right-click the choke value and change units to millimeters.

  8. Delete the color replacement if it affects gradients.

Printing a Color Chart for Accurate Matching

  1. Click the Color Replacement tool.
  2. Select the target color again.
  3. Click Variations.
  4. Adjust deviation and step values as needed.

  6. Change the cursor to Selection mode.
  7. Rotate the chart if needed.
  8. Delete previous images.
  9. Click Nest.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Print the color chart.
  12. Identify the preferred RGB value.
  13. Adjust the graphic color accordingly.
