Step 1 – Repair Head Strike Sensor Guard

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Rotate the capping station knob counterclockwise until the capping station lowers.
  3. Hold the knob in place.
  4. Push the carriage to the center of the printer bed.
  5. Loosen the two screws securing the head strike sensor guard.
  6. Slide the guard upward to remove it.
  7. Inspect the guard for bending.
  8. Bend the guard back to its proper shape if bent.
  9. Reinstall the guard.
  10. Tighten the two screws.

Step 2 – Inspect Head Strike Sensor Cable at Daughterboard

What you need

  • Connector pins are intact
  • No ink residue present
  • Cable fully seated
  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Remove the two screws on the top lid.
  3. Remove the daughterboard cover by loosening screws on both sides.
  4. Locate the head strike sensor cable.
  5. Unplug the cable.
  6. Inspect the connector and pins for damage or ink residue.
  7. Clean ink residue using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol if needed.
  8. If damage is found, contact a DTF Station technician.
  9. Plug the cable back in.
  10. Reinstall the daughterboard cover.
  11. Turn the printer back on.
