Accessing the Distressed Effect 00:00:07
Right-click the job in the queue. Select Effects. Click Distressed. Confirm the Distressed Effect dialog opens with: Preview on the left
Main Tab – Basic Mode Controls 00:00:37
Start in Basic mode on the Main tab. Adjust Image Desaturation: Range: -100 to 0 Adjust Tint Color: Select a tint color using the Tint Color option Adjust Preset Mask: Range: 0 to 100 -100 produces grayscale 0 produces full color with no change Range: 0 to 100 0 applies no tint 100 applies a solid tint over the entire image 0 disables the mask 100 applies maximum effect Select a bitmap mask from the preset list

Choose how the mask is applied: Select Light Colors or Dark Colors Adjust the Threshold slider: With Light Colors selected, lower the threshold to reveal more mask Adjust the Scale slider: Range: 0.5 to 10 Adjust the Rotation slider: 0 keeps original orientation With Dark Colors selected, increase the threshold to reveal more mask Scales the bitmap pattern size Increasing values rotate the bitmap counterclockwise around the top-left corner

Adjust the Generated Texture slider: Range: 0 to 100 Click the Generated Texture tab to access additional controls. 0 disables the effect 100 applies maximum texture

Select separate colors for Highlights and Shadows. Adjust Opacity Ratio: At 100, highlights shift toward highlight color and shadows remain dark Adjust Transition: At -100, most areas are treated as shadows At -100, shadows shift toward shadow color and highlights remain white At 100, most areas are treated as highlights

Adjust Desaturation: Reduces saturation of the mask image Adjust Blur: Applies blur to the mask Effect may be minimal on grayscale masks Softens the preset mask effect
