Overview of Rasterization Plugins

  1. Use rasterization plugins and presets to prepare images for printing in Digital Factory.
  2. Apply presets to control clipping, blending, posterization, and color behavior based on printer type and garment color.

Accessing the Rasterization Plugin

  1. Open Digital Factory.
  2. Import the image you want to work on.
  3. Right-click the job in the queue.
  4. Select Production Plugins.
  5. Click Rasterization.
  6. If Rasterization is unavailable for the file type:
  7. Select Convert to Raster from the menu.
  8. Wait for the conversion to complete.
  9. Reopen Production Plugins and select Rasterization.

Understanding Rasterization Presets

  1. Review the preset list on the right side of the Rasterization dialog.
  2. Understand the preset naming structure: Segment 1: Printer type (DTF or Laser)
  • Segment 2: Semi-transparent areas clipped or smoothly blended
  • Segment 3: Posterization applied to all opaque areas or only semi-transparent areas
  • Segment 4: Color boost applied, when applicable

Selecting Garment Color

  1. Select the garment color you will be printing on.
  2. Example: Select Black.
  3. Understand that the selected garment color is automatically knocked out of the design.
  4. Note: Selecting Black knocks out black backgrounds.
  • Selecting White knocks out white areas, best for white garments.

Using Custom Garment Color Knockout

  1. Select Transparency at the bottom of the dialog.
  2. In the Garment Color section on the right, select Color.
  3. Click the color preview sample.
  4. Choose the desired color to knock out.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Confirm the selected color is removed from the design.

Previewing and Adjusting Presets

  1. Re-select Black as the garment color if required.
  2. Select a preset from the list.
  3. View changes in real time on the left preview.
  4. Adjust the Color Boost slider to increase or decrease color intensity.
  5. Adjust the Tolerance slider to control the strength of the color knockout.

Zoom and Fine Adjustments

  1. Use the zoom control at the bottom to zoom in up to 100%.
  2. Modify preset settings as needed: Lines per inch
  3. Fine-tune settings to achieve the desired visual effect.
  • Dot size
  • Color boost value

Saving a Custom Preset

  1. Click Save As.
  2. Enter a custom name for the preset.
  3. Save the preset.
  4. Confirm the preset appears in the preset list on the right.

Applying Rasterization Settings

  1. Select the desired preset.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Confirm the rasterization settings are applied.
  4. Proceed with printing.
