Printer Not Printing Troubleshooting Guide

Initial Restart Check

  • Restart the printer
  • Restart the computer
  • Power cycling daily or regularly is recommended
  • After restart, resend the print job

Pilot Software Indicator Check

  • Check the connection symbol in DTF Station Pilot
  • Check the light bulb symbol in DTF Station Pilot
  • All symbols should be solid green

TCP/IP Port Verification in DigiRIP

  1. Open DigiRIP
  2. Click Q
  3. Select Manage Queues
  4. Open the Port drop-down menu
  5. Select IP port 127.0.0.1
  6. Confirm the port number is set to 9100
  7. Send a print job again 00:00:50

If Printer Still Does Not Respond

  • If no symbols are blinking red in Pilot, DigiRIP may not be sending data correctly

  • Attempt printing using the PRN method

Connection Symbol Blinking Red

  • Check the ethernet cable connection
  • Inspect the cable for damage or loose connections
  • Replace or change the ethernet adapter if the issue occurs frequently

Light Bulb Symbol Blinking Red

  • Click the light bulb symbol in Pilot
  • Review the latest error message in the log

Common Error Example

  • Printer cover sensor error
  • Indicates the front cover is open
  • Ensure the printer cover is fully closed during printing

  • Take a screenshot of the error log
  • Send the screenshot to a DTF Station technician for review
