Digirip - How to Setup Port to Create a PRN File for Printing

This video demonstrates how to configure your printer queue to output a PRN file instead of sending the job directly to the printer.

1. Click on “Queue.”
2. Select “Manage Queues.”

1. Under the “Port” section, click the drop-down menu.
2. Select “File” as the port type.

1. Click the “Port Properties” icon.
2. Under “Output Folder,” select a destination folder where the PRN file will be saved.
3. Click the folder icon to browse and select a folder.
4. In this example, select the Desktop as the output folder.

• You may leave this blank, but the software will prompt you to choose a folder later when saving a file.

1. For “Output File Name,” select the “Use Job Name” option.
2. Do not select the “Ask for name when made” option.

1. Click “OK” to apply the changes.

1. Send a print job from the software.
2. Instead of printing, the software will generate a PRN file.
3. Navigate to the selected output folder.
4. Confirm the PRN file has been saved successfully.

Your printer queue is now set to generate PRN files.
